The Force F1 Legends to run legendary Formula Ones in the Cathedral of Speed

‘The Force F1 Legends’ will join the TABAC Classic GP, September 13 to 15 at the Dutch TT Circuit Assen, to run legendary Formula One cars in the ‘Cathedral of Speed’. With the arrival of The Force F1 Legends, the TT Circuit Assen becomes part of a list of historic racing venues like Monza, Brands Hatch and the Nürburgring.

HISTORIC EUROPEAN FORMULA ONE RACE CAR ENTRANTS

Based in the UK, ‘The Force’ stands for ‘The Historic European Formula One Race Car Entrants’, an organisation for owners of F1 cars from the 1980s to the present, run by Lorina and David McLaughlin. As a young racing driver Lorina raced Formula Fords against the likes of James Hunt and Alan Jones. After celebrating numerous successes in club racing, Lorina, together with her husband David, focussed on collecting and preserving legendary European Formula One cars. Force organises demonstrations and events worldwide, running legendary F1s like James Hunt’s 1976 championship-winning-McLaren M23 and the 1992 ex-Michael Schumacher Benetton B192.

EX-MICHAEL SCHUMACHER BENETTON B192

The B192 F1 is actually being driven by Lorina McLaughlin. The distinctive yellow-and-green 3.5-litre V8 Benetton Ford was raced by a young and upcoming Michael Schumacher, back in 1992. Schumacher won his first Formula One Grand Prix that year, taking a first victory in F1 for Germany since Jochen Mass in 1975. ‘Schumi’ finished third in the world championship standings behind Williams-duo Nigel Mansell and Riccardo Patrese. Forever linked with the 7-times world champion’s first success, the Benetton B192 is truly a legendary Formula One.

Now in its third year, the TABAC Classic GP will host races and demonstrations with historic racing cars and motorcycles at the world-famous TT Circuit Assen, September 13 to 15 2024. Powered by a true classic in men’s personal hygiene since 1959, the TABAC Classic GP marks the return of revolutionary racers to the ‘Cathedral of Speed’.
