Newly crowned FIA Historic F3 Cup winner to race at Assen

Newly crowned FIA Historic Formula 3 Cup winner Patrick Andriessen will line up at the TABAC Classic GP Assen. On Sunday April 9th in the South of France, Andriessen became the first Dutch winner of the FIA Historic Formula 3 European Cup.

The FIA Historic Formula 3 European Cup is an annual one-off event open to Formula 3 single-seaters of the years 1971 to 1984, divided into two categories. The cars, most preserved in their original liveries, remind spectators of the names of the great champions who drove them in the past. Andriessen battled against twenty-one competitors in the 2nd category for cars from 1979 to 1984. With a lead of over 7 seconds over French driver Frederic Lajoux, the 46-year-old driver from the Dutch village of Baambrugge took his 2nd and decisive victory of the weekend last Sunday.

During the TABAC Classic GP Assen Patrick Andriessen wil line up at the AVD Historic F3 Interseries in a Ralt RT3, an F3 car with which great drivers like Ayrton Senna and Gerhard Berger celebrated their first F3-success. In the same weekend the newly crowned F3 champion will also race a Renault Alpine V6 in the Youngtimer Touring Car Challenge.
